The newly minted Australian Open champion Madison Keys’ journey towards her first major trophy has been quite the roller coaster. Keys dominated the field in Melbourne, beating 4 of the top 10 seeds including the world’s top 2 players – Iga Świątek in the semis and Aryna Sabalenka in the final. It’s been a long time coming, Keys turned professional just after her 14th birthday, but there were a lot of ups and downs before her major breakthrough – just before her 30th birthday. Madison is back in the United States now, and just caught up with CNN World Sport’s Don Riddell. He asked her if she’d had a chance yet to wrap her head around how it feels and what it means to finally win her first major title.
