NEW YORK, March 13 2023 – Cornell Blockchain Club is excited to announce its third iteration of the conference focused on building resilience in the blockchain space. The past two conferences successfully brought more than 500 blockchain enthusiasts together and were a platform for important conversations. This year, the one-day event, happening on Friday, April 21 2023, will explore new innovations in blockchain technology and how they have brought exponential growth to the space in the past year. The lineup of acclaimed speakers will dive deep and address the most exciting topics in today’s crypto and blockchain space.

In addition to our highly anticipated keynote speakers such as Emin Gün Sirer, Founder of Ava Labs, the conference will host panel discussions covering (1) insights from leaders in the industry, such as the heads of Blockchain and Crypto practices at JP Morgan, EY, and leading Crypto Venture Capital Firms such as Shima Capital, Gumi Crypto and more, (2) developments in crypto regulations in the US – where it is and where it is heading (in collaboration with our friends at Fordham Law School), and (3) technical workshops ranging from zero-knowledge proofs– all the way to hands-on coding demos.

Cornell Blockchain Conference hopes to be a space to facilitate meaningful conversations for blockchain enthusiasts from academia to start-up founders to institutions to network, discuss, and discover opportunities for collaboration.

About Cornell Blockchain

Founded in 2017, Cornell Blockchain is a student organization at Cornell University with a presence in both Ithaca and New York City with over 100+ members. The organization focuses on blockchain education, hands-on projects, and events. Cornell University is a leader in the blockchain community, from alumni founders of organizations such as Avalanche, Ribbon finance, Tezos and Cosmos Tendermint to the development of IC3, the leading academic consortium in the field. In 2022, Cornell was ranked the #2 university to study blockchain in the United States by CoinDesk and #5 in the world.

Spreading blockchain education is critical. In the past, we have joined forces with NYC Mayor Eric Adams, New York Schools, Social Justice Fund, and the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation to bring blockchain education to BIPOC Brooklyn public high school students. The club also teaches two courses on the Ithaca campus: CS-1998: Introduction to Blockchain and CS-4998: Blockchain Development. In four semesters, we have taught 200+ Cornellians and look forward to teaching many more.

Our four subteams have worked on numerous projects ranging from our Quant Team implementing a back tester for future trading strategies, our Research Team writing a research paper on dark pools, our Accelerator Team incubating three blockchain projects for this semester, and our Consulting Team working with Web 3.0 companies on go-to market strategies and much, much more!

Additionally, we strive to build and foster community, so we host many events for students to learn more about the Web 3.0/Crypto space on campus. We’re grateful to have hosted Dexterity Capital, Binance, Gauntlet, Arkham Intelligence, Dune Analytics, Ava Labs, and many more companies. On our Twitter Space series, we have hosted thought leaders such as Haseeb Quershi from Dragonfly, Mike Dudas from 6th Man Ventures, and Miko Matsumura from Gumi Cryptos Capital.
