The Paleo Pizza Recipe for Bitcoin Pizza Day

The Paleo Pizza Recipe for Bitcoin Pizza Day

This Sunday the 22nd of May 2022, it’s Bitcoin Pizza Day!

Oh damn, you can’t eat Pizza because of your diet?

Don’t worry here comes a paleo pizza recipe you can try at home.

It’s not easy to make great Pizza. Especially if you live outside of Italy. And it is even harder to so as a Stone Age eater, because Pizza, well, it will never be low-carb food by its very nature.

Until today! Because we discovered a groundbreaking recipe for paleo pizza that tastes good but is made without flour, gluten, lactose and refined sugar.

Of course, strict followers of a carnivore diet would call it a scam. After all, we don’t like to imitate fiat food like the vegans try to imitate meat products.
We should stick to real food, and eat just how nature has designed our system. But we all know how heavenly good a cheesy pizza can be (especially in Italy).

So let’s see if this primal pizza can convince.

Ingredients for 8 small pizzas

320g almond flour
400 g tapioca starch (you can get it in any Asian shop)
4 egg whites
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons apple vinegar
3 tablespoons honey
2 packets of dry yeast (gluten-free)
4 teaspoons sea salt
240 ml water (lukewarm)

Preparation:

Pour the lukewarm water into a small bowl and stir in the honey and dry yeast. Let the mixture stand for about 5 minutes until small bubbles form.
Mix the almond flour, starch and salt in a large bowl to mix. Then add the olive oil, apple cider vinegar and egg whites and mix everything together.

Gradually add the water and yeast mixture and keep mixing until it’s homogeneous. The dough remains relatively sticky and is not as compact as real pizza dough. The consistency changes as it rises.

Place a clean kitchen towel over the bowl and put it in a warm place for the yeast to do their job. Leave the dough to rise for about 1-2 hours at room temperature.

Next, preheat the oven to 250° C top and bottom heat. Line two baking trays with baking paper and spread the dough – with a large spoon – as eight flat, round bases on them (the dough is still sticky and cannot be kneaded). Leave enough space between each pizza base, they will rise and separate.

Put both trays in the oven and pre-bake the bases for about 8 minutes.
Take the trays out again and top the pizza bases as you like. Perhaps, beacon, ham and other delicious toppings will make your pizza rich and flavorfull.

Then bake them again for about 4-6 minutes. Voila, you just made Pizza that is compatible with a low-carb and paleo diet. It might even fit into a carnivory diet on cheat day?

This Sunday we celebrate bitcoin pizza day. It’s already 12 years ago that on May 22nd 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz convinced a Pappa John’s Pizza owner to accept magic internet money. He bought two pizzas for dinner and sent 10.000 Bitcoin to pay. Today 10,000 BTC are worth close to $300 Million.

We hope you enjoy Bitcoin Pizza Day 2022!
